Makers Market and Star Wars activities in Warrington this Sunday

WARRINGTON'S Makers Market is back this weekend – and there are a host of activities to celebrate.

The artisan food and craft market in Queen's Gardens on Sunday will feature more than 110 traders plus music from The Loose Change Buskers, art and craft workshops for youngsters and even magicians.

Chef and former restaurateur Dave Mooney will also be doing a cookery demonstration at 1pm.

Meanwhile, Warrington Museum and Art Gallery is having a special Sunday opening to tie in with the market.

That includes a visit from the 99th Garrison for a day of Star Wars-themed arts and crafts.

This free event will unite generations as families come together to celebrate this epic film franchise by posing for photos with Stormtroopers and making their very own Millennium Falcon/Death Star blueprint.

Mike Roberts, visitor services officer at Warrington Museum and Art Gallery, said: “We’ve hosted the 99th Garrison at the museum before and they make such a big impact.

"Their costumes are incredibly authentic and you can’t help but get caught up in the Star Wars universe when you pose for a photo with a couple of Stormtroopers! This event is an absolute must for Star Wars fans – and a great day out that everyone can get involved in.”

The Makers Market takes place on Sunday from 11am to 4pm.
