Firefighters get behind Christmas box appeal

THE Children’s Adventure Farm Trust are continuing their appeal for selection boxes to bring smiles to the faces of ill, disabled and disadvantaged children.

The charity, based near Lymm, will provide a magical Christmas party experience to 1,600 children and they need your help to make their day extra special.

Each child visiting the charity for a party will be treated to a day full of festivities, including a visit to a Christmas Barn to meet the animals, a disco, party games, a turkey dinner and a visit to the elves workshop for festive crafts.

The highlight of their day will be a visit to Santa when they will each be given a sack full of carefully matched gifts, kindly donated by the charity’s supporters.

They’ll also be given sweet treats to take home and because Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a selection box, the charity is appealing for donations to help bring joy to these children.

This week, Warrington and Penketh fire stations have offered to act as drop off points.

Helen Crowther from CAFT said: “It’s important that we make it as easy as possible for people to donate selection boxes, so it’s a huge help that Warrington and Penketh Fire Stations have offered their help again. Joining forces with our community is the key to what we’re doing at the Adventure Farm, by working together we can make a huge difference to these wonderful children who deserve the best memories of Christmas.”
