WARRINGTON’S LiveWire will be supporting the annual BBC fundraising extravaganza Children in Need on Friday, November 15 across its six leisure sites in Warrington.
The health and wellbeing organisation is taking inspiration from the celebrity”‘Rickshaw Challenge” that will see television presenter Matt Baker cycling 400 miles around Britain on a rickshaw.
LiveWire will be bidding to replicate this challenge on stationary bikes in reception areas at its neighbourhood hubs and leisure centres across the borough – with the aim of cycling 400 miles collectively by 7pm on the day.
Staff will be taking turns to ride the bikes with customers also encouraged to jump on and have a go – in exchange for a donation to the Children in Need appeal.
Miles will be recorded hourly and LiveWire will be giving regular updates on social media throughout the day on the progress of its “Rickshaw Challenge.”
LiveWire managing director Emma Hutchinson said: “Children in Need is a fantastic event that raises vital funds for a variety of very important causes. I’m delighted that LiveWire is getting involved and I hope members and staff alike have fun using pedal power to help raise lots of money.”
