Fitness fanatics and DW Fitness gym instructors to cycle hundreds of miles for Manchester Arena bombing victims

FITNESS fanatics and staff at a town centre gym will cycle hundreds of miles to raise money for victims of the Manchester Arena bombing.

A team of instructors and gym-goers from DW Fitness on Bank Street will cycle 471 miles on spin bikes in aid of the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund, which was set up in the wake of terrorist attacks on the Manchester Arena that killed 22 people and injured more than 100 others.

The 471-mile target represents the distance between Manchester and Paris, which has also been the victim of several terrorist attacks in recent years.

Cyclists are hoping to raise £500 with the 12-hour spin session, which takes place between 8am and 8pm on Saturday, June 24.

Kel Estall from DW Fitness said: “We want to raise as much money as possible and we thought this would be the best way to do it, as a lot of our spin instructors do charity spins every now and then.

“One of our instructors is a paramedic and she got called to help out on that night, so we thought we would do a big spin for the fund.

“We’re just going to see if anyone wants to jump into it while we’re doing, and we’ve got a spin class in the morning that will be the starting leg.

“We just want to see what we can do as a part of the local community.”
