A CHRISTMAS Toy Appeal is to be run in Warrington for the seventh year running.

The borough council’s Neighbourhoods In Warrington team will again be running the scheme – and is asking for donations to be gifted to families who are struggling to buy Christmas presents for their children.

Donations of new toys, chocolates, sweets, new nightwear, books and gift vouchers will be accepted and should be suitable for children up to the age of 16. Each gift will then be distributed ready to be put under the Christmas tree.

All of the families who receive a present will have been referred to the service by health and wellbeing partners across the borough.
Residents can drop off their donations at Orford Community Hub on Festival Avenue or at Contact Warrington on Horsemarket Street.

Cllr Tony Higgins, cabinet member for leisure and community, said: “Last year’s generous donations ensured many children across the borough received a gift at Christmas. It would be fantastic if local people could donate again this year so many more children can receive a present and have a Christmas to remember.”
